On discomfort

I had been thinking about waiting until this afternoon to ride, so it was a good thing I watched the weather forecast early this morning.  It’s to get progressively colder as the day goes on.  Since it’s already much colder than yesterday, I decide to dress and set out.  After all, the sun is out so all is good.

One thing that wasn’t so good:  I had some discomfort on the saddle yesterday.  Today it was x2.  I spent most of the ride trying to sit very upright or out of the saddle altogether.  Took a lot of the joy out of what was otherwise a nice ride.  Plus slowed down my average on a relatively flat course to pitiful.

I think it was a combination of a couple of things.  Over winter I have been wearing some cold weather compression tights under my shorts which I went without yesterday.  Also I have recently had the bike into the shop for a tuneup and I think the saddle got out of level during the process.

So I’ve adjusted the saddle and work will keep me out of it for most of the week anyway.  So I hope that will give me plenty of time to heal up.

Such a shame because it was such a nice ride day, though colder.

  1. Just catching up with you here at your new locale. Looks great! Sorry to hear of the saddle woes – ’tis not a good thing to have saddle woes!

  2. Hey TA!
